Why Your Windshield Wipers Are Not Working
Your windshield wipers use a few different parts to keep them moving, including a motor, fuse, and pivot nuts. Any one of these parts could stop working or become loose, causing issues with your blades.
For example, the electricity used by the motor and fuse can burn them out, therefore requiring replacement. Also, the pivot nuts used to keep your blades together may loosen, causing only one wiper blade to work—or neither to work at all. While the motor and fuse issue will need repairing, the pivot nuts may just need tightening.
There may also be structural damage to the rubber found on your wipers. If this rubber wears out or tears, it won’t work as it’s designed to. In addition, look for any obvious obstructions that may be in the way of your wipers’ motion. Whether it’s packed-in snow or a pile of leaves, these may be preventing proper movement.
